Job Title: Program Assistant for the Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program (OTD)

Reporting Relationship: Program Director- Occupational Therapy Doctorate

Unit: IWU-Marion

Department: Doctorate in Occupational Therapy-IWU Marion

Campus Location: Ott Hall of Sciences & Nursing

Summary of Position:    The OTD Program Assistant is responsible for administrative support of the Occupational Therapy Program and OTD Faculty including daily administrative maintenance of the program, annual event planning, and routine hospitality tasks. This person works closely with the OTD Program Director, OTD faculty, OTD students, and other IWU departments and staff.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the OTD student admissions process. Work alongside Registration and Academic Services to facilitate the student onboarding experience. This process includes communication with IWU offices as well as prospective students
  • Initiate and maintain administrative organization of the OTD program including, but not limited to: developing calendars and scheduling, managing student workers, oversight of classrooms, attaining resources for faculty, ordering materials and supplies 
  • Event planning and hospitality including planning graduation banquet and hooding ceremony, scheduling and preparing for student interviews, scheduling annual faculty retreat, preparations for student orientation, and arrangements for global travel 
  • Participate in data collection for annual reports including communication with alumni. Tasks include, but are not limited to: financial reconciliation, survey administration, market research for OTD education. Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required

Experience

  • Administrative assistant experience preferred, but not required. Experience with data management, professional communication, hospitality skills beneficial
